Childhood stuff

Posted in Memes & quizzes at 10:28 am by seagreen65

I snagged this from Ally.

1. Hum a jingle of which you know all the words. LOUDER. Now write it down so we can remember it too:
‘Murray mints, Murray mints, too good to hurry mints’.
2. As a kid, you played a board game over and over. And you cheated.
I think the games we played most were Monopoly or Scrabble, and I never cheated. I would have felt much too guilty.
3. What was the name of a song you have been singing the incorrect words to all these years. What were you singing, and what should you be singing?
Until fairly recently I was convinced that ‘Cry Me A River’ was called ‘Crimea River’.
4. What embarrassing childhood story do your parents bring out just to mess with you for their own amusement?
I can’t really think of one, but we do laugh over my attempts to play the violin, and how I used to play ‘Twinkle, Twinkle, Little Star’ to visitors. And it only recently occurred to me that when my Dad used to send me off to pick the daisies out of the lawn it didn’t actually need doing, and was along the lines of sending someone for a long weight, or a tin of elbow grease!

Thursday Thirteen

Posted in Memes & quizzes at 8:51 am by seagreen65

I’m doing the Thursday Thirteen as usual. I’m still not sure that I’m doing it right, but anyway – here goes! My thirteen things about me for this week are things that make me happy. I’m sorry if I’m repeating myself, but I can’t be bothered to go back and look at all my other Thursday Thirteen posts!
1. Spending time with my close family and friends.
2. Getting into a freshly-made bed.
3. Getting an email from someone who I wasn’t expecting to hear from.
4. Shopping, and especially finding bargains!
5. Watching something I’m really interested in on television.
6. Relaxing in bed when I’m feeling really achey.
7. Looking at flowers, plants & trees – especially unusual ones.
8. Being near the sea, especially when it’s dull, windy weather.
9. Finding a book I’m really interested in reading.
10.  Eating my favourite meal – egg & chips!
11.  Having warm feet!
12.  Not being in (as much) pain.
13.  Finding clothes that fit me and that I actually like!

What kind of sportscar are you?

Posted in Memes & quizzes at 12:52 pm by seagreen65

I snagged this from Karen.

I’m an Audi TT!

You’re not the fastest, nor the most nimble, but you’re cute and you have style. You’re not intensely competitive, but when you pass by, everyone turns to look.
Take the Which Sports Car Are You? quiz.
